BIRTHDAYS

We celebrate birthdays during the morning snack period. You are welcome to send in cakes, muffins, cookies, or cupcakes for the children to enjoy. Your child's teacher will add special stories and songs to make this a special time for your child.

Toys From Home

Except for comforting toys that are needed at naptime, we ask that your child's toys are left at home or in the car. Our school cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged which are brought from home.

Our exception would occur should your child's teacher include a "Sharing Time" in the program. Sharing is a concept which young children are beginning to learn. Please be mindful that it is easier for a child to "share" a story or picture than an expensive toy.

Clothing

Sometimes learning and having fun can be extremely messy. Your child should come to school in comfortable, washable clothing. Each child needs to keep extra clothing, including socks and undergarments, in their bag each day.

Labels

These items should be labeled to avoid loss and disappointment to your child:

  • Coolers/lunch boxes, thermoses.
  • Coats - on the inside tag.
  • Your child's daily bag or backpack.
  • Naptime necessities.
  • Diapers/ wipes/ powder/ ointments.
  • Baby bottles/ training cups.

Health & Safety Of Your Child

Each child must have current medical and immunication records upon enrollment which will be updated regularly.

Your child will be sent home if he appears to have symptoms of illness during the day. In such cases, he will be immediately isolated from the others, and a parent will be contacted.

Keep your child home :

  1. If he / she has a fever, or has had one during the previous twenty-four hours.
  2. If he / she has a heavy nasal discharge.
  3. If he / she has a constant cough.
  4. If he / she has sumptoms of a possible communicable disease. (Please notify the director of your child has been diagnosed with a communicable disease.)

Your child may come to day care :

  • If he / she has been free from fever for twenty four hours.
  • If there has been no vomiting or diarrhea for twenty four hours.
  • Your child has been prescribed an antibiotic, and it has been administered for at least twenty four hours.
